Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Course — Florida Psychoanalytic Center

A doctor of psychology and practicing clinical psychologist, David Steinbok helps patients gain insight into issues that are causing problems in their lives and relationships. In 2017, David Steinbok received his Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Certification from the Florida Psychoanalytic Center.

The Florida Psychoanalytic Center’s Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Course (PPC) is a two-year program that gives mental health clinicians the opportunity to expand their therapeutic knowledge and skills. In addition to improving their ability to engage with patients, they will learn skills to address difficult issues and treat patients more effectively. The program is open to all licensed mental health professionals, including marriage and family therapists, social workers, psychiatrists, and psychologists.

The two-part program includes a didactic portion focused on theoretical knowledge of psychoanalytic theory and a psychoanalytic understanding of psychopathology. Additionally, the program involves supervised clinical work at clinical conferences on alternating weeks. A total of 15 classes per year, each led by one or more faculty members, expose students to a variety of teaching techniques.
